The next tour stop is located close to where E. Gregory Boulevard crosses over the Blue River. Around 2:00 p.m. Shelby sent Col. Frank B. Gordon with his 5th Missouri Cavalry (CSA) upriver to find a way to get across and hit Jennison on the right flank. Gordon likely crossed the river using a ford near this location. Back in 1864, there was a cattle ford located near here.
