Stop 63—Red Bridge over Big Blue River

[Waypoint 38.924570 -94.575660]

The next tour stop is a Santa Fe Trail historical marker located in Minor Park in Kansas City, Missouri. On October 23, the Confederate wagon train crossed the Big Blue River over the original Red Bridge near this location (although not all historians believe the train used this route to New Santa Fe). Down by the red granite Santa Fe Trail marker, the swales provide evidence of the thousands of wagons that used this part of the Santa Fe Trail on their way west.
